Unlike most tubs, the MyControl system is both walk-in and accessible from a seated position. The doorway spans an impressive 83% of the 30” x 60” bathing system, providing a wider entry space for easier access.
The MyControl door pivots around the legs, allowing for easy transfer in and out of the bathing system. The bi-fold design ensures flexibility and easy installation, even in restricted space bathrooms.
Located on the outer basin front, the door keypad can be operated without reaching across the bath to the suggested touch panel installation location. The external door touch keypad works interchangeably with the central touch panel.
MyControl’s door allows for easy transfer into the 18” high molded-in seating area. The design ensures a seamless experience without the need for a hydraulic lift in most bathing situations. The door’s smooth curve and angled molded seating area provide added comfort and support.
Made from Acrylic, the door is durable, seamless, and reinforced with fiberglass for extra support. When closed, the door seats into three electromechanical strikes, ensuring a tight, secure fit.
The door design ensures that water dripping from the edge flows directly into the tub, keeping your floors dry and reducing slip hazards. The door’s design also eliminates tracks, giving you full control over the door’s opening and closing angles.
The door latching system is fully integrated with MyControl’s SmartElectronics™. With the touch of the external door keypad, the central control panel or a voice command, the electro-mechanical strikes release. For safety, the door strikes will only activate if no water is detected in the tub basin at floor drain level, and the strikes are designed to prevent the door from becoming unbalanced during use.
What Is an Inflatable Seal?
MyControl uses a custom-designed, reinforced inflatable EPDM rubber seal, which inflates with water to create a watertight barrier between the door and the basin. This cutting-edge technology ensures that water stays in the basin, not on your floor.
How It Works
The seal inflates only when the door is in the closed and latched position and water is detected in the basin drain, filling a 1/16” to 1/8” gap. Using electric solenoids, tap water is used to inflate and deflate the seal, ensuring a reliable, secure fit. Even during power outages, the seal and door will remain secure, maintaining the integrity of the bathing system.
The wider doorway and unique swing-in mechanism ensure easier entry and exit, providing true accessibility for people of all abilities.
The inflatable seal keeps water securely inside the tub, reducing the risk of leaks and water damage.
The door is formed from durable acrylic and internally reinforced with Acrylobond, the door is built to last while providing safety features like water detection and automatic locking.
The door’s ergonomic design makes transferring in and out of the system easier and more comfortable, with a sleek and easy-to-use control interface.
